DOS yourself
Too easily done by impatient users of eZ Publish on Media Temple servers.
Temporarily freeze an eZ Publish system on media temple DV server. Not yet 100 percent sure this is the cause, but noting it here for future reference.
Open the "ajaxified" image embedder in eZ Publish. Seems like the ajax started early in the 4.0 series and comes in as part of the Online Editor - OE.
Click to embed an object, like an image, the spinner starts going around in circles. Get bored waiting, presume a problem of some sort, kill the ajax interface by clicking the X with the spinner still going.
Now try to access the site on the DV server using just about any method you want. It will be molasses slow, for about half an hour.
Moral of the story, don't artificially kill the ajax spinner, let it come back and report a problem. Otherwise, temporary system instability may be the result.
