.odt document transfer - updated

ezodf extension allows import-export of open document format

Export is straightforward from the website toolbar. An icon on the right hand side of the toolbar, click it, save it, done.

Import should work from the toolbar as well, but alas, not yet. To import, add..

ezodf/import

to the end of the admin login url. After that it is straightforward to get the document into content structure, even multiple documents.

Nice way to transfer formatted information and graphics in a hurry from/to a variety of source. Good job by ezodf developers.

UPDATED:

Tried this with content that had an ampersand & in the title. The import threw an error.

Tried to open the document in open office, content.xml line and character position were referenced in an illegal character error message.

Renamed the .odt to .zip so could extract and view the contents of the packaged odt file. Opened content.xml in TextWrangler, deleted the character that was causing the problem, saved the file. Compressed all the contents back into a new zip file, named "archive.zip" by default in OS X. Renamed archive.zip to archive.odt and it opened right up in open office.
