Create the hello world video.
Quicktime broadcaster, a really neat app, is kind of buried in all the other capabilities built in to OS X Leopard.
Apple-spacebar, and type out "quicktime bro" should be enough to display Quicktime Broadcaster.app as the top hit. Press the enter key to fire it up.
When it opens, setting it up as per the main image for this article worked to create the hello world movie into a file of ~100k, very small in other words. Click the broadcast button to begin capture, to a file named mymovie(x).mov in the Movies folder for the current user. The x is not a rating, it is replaced with successively higher numbers as more mymovies are created.
These quicktime .mov files are uploaded into eZ Publish content using the quicktime content type. Just like creating a new article, but drop down the selector to choose quicktime, and the facilities to upload a .mov file are presented in a nice eZ web form.
These .mov files are also nice for making quick notes to self, for sending in email, podcasting. Quite a lot of uses for such an overlooked app.
