- Apple-option then drag finder content to the location where an alias is needed. This is an ln -s styl alias that plays well with unix utilities.
- Apple-shift-4, bullseye cursor appears. Use the mouse to plot a rectangle around any screen content, release the mouse button and that content is saved to a jpg file on the desktop.
- Cntrl-two fingers on pad, slide fingers up or down. Zooms in and out the entire screen.
- Apple-option-A, in Safari, an activity window. Displayed are the individual pieces of content that combine to create the output in the browser window(s). Double-clicking any of these items saves them to the download folder. Why is this useful? Most commonly for downloading youtube videos locally. The download is saved as get_video. It is a flash video file, so add .flv to the end and it should open in your system default flash viewer. If you don't have such a thing already, VLC is a free download that will work.
